The original Blythe doll was manufactured by Kenner (now Hasbro) in 1972. She was produced for only one year and was unfortunately retired. In late 2000, Blythe returns in Japan by toy manufacturer Takara. Her most unique and notable feature are color-changing eyes, that change color with the pull of a string attached to the back of her head.
